Commenting on the ongoing discussions on the subject of testing, Employer President Dr. Rainer Dulger said:

Berlin, March 29, 2021. "Just days after the test appeal, private companies, large and small, have greatly expanded their testing efforts. We are acting even though some companies, their employees and families are facing very difficult economic challenges right now. We don't shy away from comparisons with public sector testing efforts, for example, in administrations and in schools. We also know from feedback from our companies that the demand for testing has increased to the point where supplies are delayed. So some tests may have got stuck in the Suez Canal. But we don't let that get in the way of our enthusiasm.

Companies are testing out of self-interest and thus complementing their great efforts to also make the workplace Corona-proof. After all, we all want and need to keep people in work, protected against the pandemic. Because only with value creation can we keep our social systems alive, which are currently providing for everyone.

With the constant threat of a legal regulation, this commitment is not acknowledged. A testing law does not create more protection, but more bureaucracy, more costs, less initiative and a pile of unresolved legal and organizational questions. And test certificates would be the height of testing bureaucracy! Here we need reliable and comprehensible ways to document the results of testing. We don't want a legislative debate, we want more testing successes. It is time that we return to a common understanding. Especially in this difficult situation, politics and business can only achieve a lot together."
