Dr. Rainer Dulger was today elected President of the Confederation of German Employers' Associations (BDA). The BDA's General Meeting in Berlin voted in a secret ballot to place its confidence in him for a two-year term of office without any dissenting votes. Rainer Dulger succeeds Ingo Kramer, who has been President of the BDA since November 2013.

Dr. Rainer Dulger: "I am very pleased about my election as Employer President. To be able to fill this office is both a great honour and a special task for me. After all, what makes us an umbrella organisation is our diversity. We are the only umbrella organization in Germany that represents the entire economy - from industry, trade and crafts to services and the chemical industry. This breadth - which also extends to small, medium-sized and large companies - is our strength. I want to continue to unite and strengthen this diversity. That is my goal. That's what I stand for as employer president."

Dulger, born in 1964, is the current Vice President of the BDA and has been a member of its Executive Committee since 2003. Since 2012, he has been President of Gesamtmetall, the umbrella organization of 21 employers' associations in the German metal and electrical industry, and since 2014 President of Arbeitgeber Baden-Württemberg - Landesvereinigung Baden-Württembergischer Arbeitgeberverbände e. V.in Stuttgart. He has been managing partner of ProMinent GmbH for more than 20 years. The Heidelberg-based company founded by his father has developed into one of the world's leading manufacturers in the field of dosing technology and water disinfection. Today, more than 2,700 employees work at the headquarters in Germany and at another 50 locations worldwide.

Rainer Dulger is married and has two children.

Dr. Rainer Dulger is succeeded on the BDA Vice Presidium by Stefan Wolf, Chairman of the Management Board of automotive supplier Elringklinger.
